If you love to live in or visit New Orleans,

pull up a chair and pour yourself a glass.

Lush courtyards, vibrant colors and lively scenes are just a few ways
New Orleans plays a role in my work.

Hi, I’m Kristy (Oustalet) Duke–

a color obsessed painter living and working in New Orleans.

It wasn’t until I moved out of state and worked abroad that I began to truly come to appreciate my hometown.

These days, the people, places and the happenings of New Orleans is my muse inside my home art studio.

a little flashback––

After receiving my BFA (Bachelor of Fine Art), I was interested in exploring other cities including living in Chicago and Chiang Mai (Thailand) and traveled extensively.

Being away for nearly five years uncovered a newfound appreciation for New Orleans.

When I returned home, I opened Color Me Nola- an art teaching Studio in addition to being a Live Event Painter.

This marked the start of years in the arts and event industry, filled with creative collaborations and entrepreneurial projects.

My work has been profoundly influenced by all these places and experiences.

Each of these opportunities has left an impression on me personally and professionally.

Many of which you can find represented in my work and define my signature style. Albeit style, theme, color, narrative.
